COMEDIAN EDDIE GRIFFIN HEADLINES COMEDY CONNECTION HU KE LAU ON JANUARY 29th

Chicopee, MA – Eddie Griffin is set to perform at Comedy Connection Hu Ke Lau on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 7:30 PM and 11:00PM

Eddie Griffin is now enjoying the career that he had always planned.   Audiences will next see Eddie co-starring alongside Luke Wilson in THE WENDALL BAKER STORY, which comes out this May.   Earlier this year, Eddie was seen starring opposite Eddie Murphy in the blockbuster comedy NORBIT where he played “Pope Sweet Jesus,” who is Norbit’s (Murphy’s) counselor and confidant.   

On the small screen, Griffin appeared in a series of hilarious commercials for MILLER LITE beer; the commercial campaign featured a number of notable people including Burt Reynolds in the spots.  And last holiday season, Griffin co-starred in the NBC’s holiday television movie, THE YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS as an elf.  

Eddie’s film resume includes: UNDERCOVER BROTHER, DEUCE BIGALOW: MALE GIGOLO and its sequel DEUCE BIGALOW: EUROPEAN GIGOLO, DATE MOVIE, SCARY MOVIE 3, REDLINE, MY BABY’S DADDY, JOHN Q. and ARMAGEDDON.  And of course, there was DYSFUNKTIONAL FAMILY, which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival.  DYSFUNKTIONAL FAMILY combined Griffin’s stand-up comedy act with a cinema verite look at his personal life.  Griffin produced, co-wrote and performed on the film’s soundtrack with Sage Knight.

Eddie is probably best known to television audiences as the star of UPN’s hit comedy series MALCOM & EDDIE where he was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for “Best Actor in a Comedy Series.”    Griffin also wrote and directed four episodes of the sitcom, one of which starred his mentor, Richard Pryor.

He has formed his own independent record label, BLUELIGHT RECORDS.  An accomplished musician, Griffin is also a member of his own band, ECLECTIC DIVINITY.

Eddie’s career has reached a new level, and he constantly has new projects in the making. Keep an eye out for his upcoming films IRISH JAM, DATE MOVIE, and BUNYAN AND BABE.
